The Delphi Bank 20th Greek Film Festival closes with Capital, the new financial thriller by the legendary Costa-Gavras.

In Capital, Gavras returns to familiar territory with this persuasively-detailed tale of boardroom politics, remorseless backstabbing and the evils of capitalism.

The CEO of one of France’s most important banks collapses on the golf course. His job responsibilities are assumed by a calculating young exec, Marc Tourneuil (leading French comedian Gad Elmaleh). For most, this is a temporary measure but Marc sees it differently, throwing himself into the high-rolling gladiatorial arena with an impressive level of ruthless hypocrisy.

Along the way, he wins the favour of a Miami-based power broker Dittmar Rigule, played with vile reprehensibility by Gabriel Byrne; both characters as smooth as their designer suits.

After the film, farewell the festival with drinks, mezedes and live music. All tickets $30.

About the Director:
Costa-Gavras is a Greek-French filmmaker who is commonly associated with political thrillers. He is probably best known for Z (1969) and Missing (1982) but his filmography also includes Music Box (1989), Amen (2003) and Eden is West (2009). He is currently the president of the Cinémathèque Française, a position he has held twice and spanning 10 years.
