The director of Attenberg and frequent collaborator of Giorgos ‘Dogtooth’ Lanthimos delivers this hauntingly beautiful short film.
Described by its maker as “a Greek Gothic mystery”, The Capsule sees seven young women in a mansion perched on a Cycladic rock (shot on the island of Hydra). They undergo a series of lessons in discipline, desire, discover and disappearance, while teetering on the brink of womanhood.
Characterised by highly stylised imagery, this film was produced as a partner piece to an installation for the DesteFashionCollection 2012 in New York.
“An haute couture-clad coming-of-age fantasy… flirting with elements of melodrama, horror and even fetishism.” Yatzer
