This book was written in the early 1960s and refers to real life individuals, however their names and details have been altered for the purposes of this publication. The main character is Alisavo and together with the book’s other characters, he provides a portrait of post war migration and the associated hardships and traumas as well as their aspirations for a better future in Australia.

The book is dedicated to the migrant dream and to their experiences and struggles. The book was published with the assistance of the Victorian Multicultural Commission and translated by Dean Kalymniou and will be available in both languages.

Mr. Vakras will present his narrative during the launch and will offer his insight into the characters of ‘Alisavo: Chasing a dream’.
