The 23rdDelphi Bank Greek Film Festival, presented in Victoria by the Greek Community of Melbourne, is set to open at The Astor with the internationally cast feature film from Christopher Papakaliatis, Worlds Apart.

After smashing Greek box office records with his spirited debut film, What If…(GFF, 2013), Papakaliatis returns with this deeply tender tale of cross-continental love.

Worlds Apart interweaves narratives by presenting a trio of tonally incongruent stories, all set in modern Greece and all involving romance between a Greek and a foreigner. With an abundance of affection, humour and gravitas, each story climbs its climactic mountain before shifting to the next. Yet, somehow, all three come together at the end in a way we never anticipate.

Seven acclaimed actors from three different countries met in Greece to be part of this entirely Greek production, including winner of the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, J.K Simmons (Whiplash, 2015), and winner of the Hellenic Film Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor (the late Minas Chatzisavvas).
