The oldest Greek orthodox church in Victoria, Evangelismos (in Victoria Parade East Melbourne) has welcomed the latest edition to its century old clergy roll call with Archimandrite Fr. Kosmas Damianides, replacing the long serving (37 years) Fr. Minas Dimitropoulos on Sunday 21 June.

In what was an emotional service Fr. Kosmas officiated with Fr. Minas and with Bishop Iakovos of Militoupoleos. The Bishop thanked Fr. Minas for his long ministry while at the same time welcomed and Fr. Kosmas to his new posting at the Greek Community of Melbourne’s iconic church. Fr. Minas in turn thanked the Bishop for his warm words and reserved a particular thankyou to his congregation, many of whom have been with him at the historic church for much of his service.
