Come along next Sunday the 20th of November to an event that commemorates the 43rd anniversary of the Athens Polytechnic students uprising in 1973.
It was the students’ protests that eventually led to the downfall of the Colonels military dictatorship.
There will be live Greek music with songs reflecting the mood of that era, as well as poetry reading from our Greek School students.
Maria Herodotou, Head of the Greek department at Latrobe University will speak about the relevance of the uprising to today's political and educational reality.
It all happens at Democritus House, 583 High St Northcote, Sunday 20th of November at 2.30 pm.
See you there! |
